Stuff sweet baby peppers with a dab or two of cream cheese and some pepperjack cheese, throw it on the grill (or in the oven) and you’ve got a super easy, super delicious appetizer. I’m not a fan of jalapenos, but if you like spice, you could sub those in for the sweet peppers. In the [...]

I like low-key days that lead to this: I’ve neglected my blog in the last month (and change). I’ve been busy. I’ve been busy being happy. With my boyfriend tied up with recording this week, I may find myself with some time to write about my HATRED for living downtown / my apartment complex, my desire [...]

Using my new, cherry red dutch oven (Thanks, Mom and Dad!), I made a pot roast along with veggies for dinner last night. I used a can of Coca Cola in lieu of water and it was, if I do say so myself, amazing.

I saw a recipe on wordpress for bacon and cheese biscuits and they sound pretty damn divine. I’m going to give them a go on Sunday morning and maybe scramble an egg to make some sort of breakfast sandwich. Also this weekend, I’m going to make a carrot cake. It’s been a while since I baked, [...]

I’m really digging this whole teaching myself how to cook thing that I’ve had going on for the last month. I’m kicking myself for not taking pictures of my beginning creations, especially the first meal I made (crab topped cod fillets with almond rice pilaf and broccoli drizzled in ginger orange butter). Despite the lack [...]

For better of for worse, I’ve started cooking. Over the past couple of years, I’ve been given cook books (2), a subscription to a cooking magazine, pot holders, an apron, spices, and various pots and pans. Great gifts except that when I turn on my oven I still smell that new-plastic smell and several of [...]
