Running the morning after a 16 mile bike ride (blog post about that to come!) is, uh, not fun. I’m not sure, but I may have broken my out of shape body. My neck thankfully and surprisingly does not hurt, but my butt, thighs and lower back are killin’ me. I have to squeeze four [...]

And done. Summer has finally shown up in Seattle because I was certainly feeling toasty at 8:30 this morning. The first thing I did after finishing my run was plant myself directly in front of my A/C unit in my livingroom. That’s right – my A/C has finally been fixed! PAX is going on downtown [...]

I can check my fourth run off the list. I did it! I did it with cramps and a stomach full of Widmer Hefeweizen. So maybe I didn’t do it comfortably, but let me say again, I did it. I think Hercules is starting to get back into the groove of running, as well, since he [...]

Haven’t noticed an update about run #4? Well, that’s because it hasn’t happened yet. I screwed myself over in the name of laziness on Sunday morning, so now I will pretty much have to run every other day in order to complete my self-challenge by the deadline (my departure for Iceland). This evening’s run will [...]

Do not, I repeat, DO NOT go for a run after drinking a grande drip and eating a slice of cold pizza for breakfast. Did I puke? No. Did I almost puke? Ask the homeless man sitting in the shade around the corner of the Paramount, who may or may not have witnessed me nearly hacking while [...]

I’m going to keep this short because I’m tired and I have to wake up early for a meeting (that is if my legs will carry me to it in the morning!), but I couldn’t go to bed without posting that I am on track with my running self-challenge. I completed my second run this [...]

Last night I discovered that my favorite shirt has a hole in it. Let me tell ya, it was an upsetting discovery! I pulled up the Nordstrom website to see if the shirt was still available, in case I wanted to order another, when I was accosted by photos of models in flare jeans. NOOOOOO FLARES. WHY MUST EVERY STYLE CYCLE THROUGH AGAIN?! [...]

For all of you blog skimmers, I mentioned my self-imposed running re-introduction self-challenge in a post earlier today. To sum it up, I leave for Iceland in 19 days, but before I go I would like to go for 10 runs and increase my activity overall. Run 1: Oh lawdy. Where the hell did my endurance [...]

Confrontation. For me, it’s easy with strangers and hard with friends. It’s gotten to that point though where I have to say something…out loud even. Excuses. First a car wreck, then pneumonia and most recently a busted toe. While 2010 was the year that got me back into decent shape, 2011 has seen me become a [...]

I had a damn good night last night, which I believe Webster defines as, “having breakfast for dinner and Jurassic Park for dessert.” Before I was scrambling eggs and frying hash browns, I went for a run in the downpour and in keeping with the theme of my night it was a damn good run. [...]
